"Watch Highlights of Kids in the Marsh camp"

In partnership with the City of Oshawa, and Darlington Provincial Park.  Friends offers a day camp program in July and August for children ages 6 - 11.

Children enjoy a week of outdoor nature exploration through environmental activities, crafts and games that are linked to a theme.

Themes for the summer of 2010 are:

Going Green (July 5-9)

Learn how to be more environmentally friendly around home, school, and even at camp. Find out green ways to change your lifestyle.

Creepy Critters (July 12-16; August 9-11)

Discover everything creepy as we look at things that crawl, slither and move at a snail's pace. Many strange creatures live right under our noses and we'll take a closer look at them.  

Lost in the Woods (July 19-23; August 16-20)

Have you ever been lost? With a little know how you can handle this situation easier. During this week we will go over some things you should know in case you ever become lost.

Up in the Sky (July 26-July 30)

Look up, way up! There is so much above our heads...birds, clouds, stars and more. Learn about things that fly, shine and swirl.

Habitat is Home (August 3-6)

What is a habitat? Find out during this exciting week of camp where we explore different types of habitats and the animals that live there.

Program Hours

Half day program - 9 am to 12 pm, or 1 pm to 4 pm

Full day program - 9 am to 4 pm, with supervised lunch from 12 noon to 1 pm

Early supervision hours are half an hour prior to program start (from 8:30 to 9 am) and late supervision hours are half an hour after program end (from 4 to 4:30 pm).The extended care is only an extra $10.00 per week per child, paid directly to the camp when you drop off your child(ren).

Location and Directions to Day Camp

The program is situated at Darlington Provincial Park in Courtice. Please take the Courtice Road exit from Highway 401 and follow the signs to the park. The Park is located south of Highway 401. If you require specific directions, please call the park at (905) 436-2036.

To register your child or children for the camp please visit the any of the City of Oshawa's recreation centers. (The Legends Center, the Civic Center, Donevan Recreation Complex, Northview Community Center, Arts Resource Center, South Oshawa Recreation Center) Please note: Registrations are not done over the phone. Please visit one of the centers, or register online at http://leisure.oshawa.ca .
